Paste a plan from Excel

Copy a week from Excel or Google Sheets and turn it into draft workouts.

Already plan in a spreadsheet? Copy the cells and paste them into Athelista. The app reads them by fixed rules and adds them as drafts for you to check.

Paste a week for the batch

  1. In Plans, pick the batch and go to the week, in Week or Athletes view.
  2. Tap Paste from Excel.
  3. In your sheet, select the cells with the dates or weekdays on the top row and one column per day. Copy them.
  4. Paste into the box.
  5. Check each workout in the list. Tap Check steps to see how a workout was read.
  6. Untick any workout you don't want, or change its day.
  7. Tap Add … as drafts (it shows how many).

Nothing reaches athletes until you publish the week.

What the sheet can look like

  • Top row: dates (10/13/2026, 13 Oct, 2026-10-13) or weekdays (Mon, Tuesday).
  • Runs written your usual way: "2k wu 1mins fast 5:35-45 1mins jog ×15 2k cd" or "75 mins easy".
  • Gym routines with one exercise per line: "jump squats 20×3".
  • Cells that say "Rest", "Rest day", "Off" or "No workout" are read as rest days.

Words the app can't read are never dropped. You'll see "Couldn't read …", and those words are kept as a note on the workout.

Which week it goes into

Use the arrows next to Pasting into to pick the week. Workouts go into that week by weekday.

If your sheet's dates are for a different week (say you're re-using last week's sheet), the app asks before adding anything. Choose Add to the week of … to use the weekdays, or Use the sheet's dates.

A sheet with one row per athlete

If your sheet has athlete names down the side and days across the top, the app matches each name to your roster.

  1. Check the Athlete column. Pick the right person for any name that wasn't matched, or leave it on skip. Tap a name to see what each day became: the text from your sheet, the workout it was read as, and Check steps for the full steps.
  2. Close spellings are only suggested ("Did you mean …? Use"), because family members often share a surname.
  3. Athletes with the same plan on the same day share one workout.
  4. Cells that read like messages ("Best wishes for race day") can be sent to those athletes as messages now. Untick the box if you don't want that.
  5. Tap Add … plans as drafts, then check them in Plans › Athletes and publish.
