Training blocks

See your season as Base, Build, Peak and Taper, with a target distance for each week.

Training blocks split your season into phases, each with a weekly distance target. They show where you are on the way to your race.

Where you see them

  • Progress › Stats › Season: the blocks as one bar, a mark for this week, and each week's target (dashed outline) against what you did (filled).
  • Plan: a line above the week with the block, the target, what's planned and what's done.
  • Today: under the greeting, for example "Build · week 2 of 4".

The phases

  • Base: build the base.
  • Build: harder work.
  • Peak: race-specific.
  • Taper: ease off before the race.
  • Recovery: an easy spell.

If you have a coach

Your coach sets your blocks. You can see them but not change them. Talk to your coach if a target feels wrong.

If you train on your own

You can plan your own blocks.

  1. On Progress, tap Plan blocks (or Edit on the Season card).
  2. Under Timing, pick End in race week (if you have a goal race) or Start on a date.
  3. For each block, pick the Block, the Weeks (1 to 16), and the weekly distance From and To. The weeks in between rise or fall evenly.
  4. Optional: Sessions/wk, and Lighter last week (70%) for an easier final week.
  5. Fine-tune any single week under "Each week". Tap Add block for more (up to 8).
  6. Tap Save.

Remove all clears your blocks.

Good to know

  • Targets guide the plan. Workouts are still added as usual.
  • You can plan at most 52 weeks.
