Connect your watch

Connect Garmin so runs come in on their own, and send your planned runs to your watch. Any other watch can upload a file.

Connect your watch and your runs and gym sessions come into Athelista on their own, matched to your plan. Your coach sees what you did without asking.

Connect Garmin

  1. Go to Account › Connected devices.
  2. Tap Connect Garmin Connect.
  3. Read what we import and tick the box to agree. Tap Agree & connect Garmin.
  4. Sign in to Garmin and allow access. Keep Activities and Workout import switched on.
  5. You come back to Athelista. Your last 30 days of activities import in the background.

We import your activities: type, time, distance, pace, heart rate, laps and GPS route. We don't import health data such as sleep, stress or steps.

Send planned runs to your watch

Once Garmin is connected, tick Send my planned runs to my watch. Your next 7 days of runs appear in your Garmin calendar with steps and paces. Start them from the watch. When your coach changes a run, the watch copy updates too. Gym sessions stay in the app. To take one run off your watch, tap Remove next to On your watch on Today.

If you see a note that Garmin hasn't allowed workout import, tap Disconnect, connect again and keep Workout import on.

COROS

COROS is coming soon. When it's switched on, it shows in Connected devices next to Garmin and connects the same way. Until then, upload your COROS activity files (see below).

Any other watch

Apple Watch, Samsung, Pixel and others: export the activity from your watch app and upload the FIT, GPX or TCX file. See Log or upload an activity. No watch at all? Mark your workouts done. See Mark a workout done, missed or moved.

My run isn't showing

  1. Make sure your watch has synced to the Garmin Connect app.
  2. On Today, tap the sync pill at the top (it shows when you last synced). Or tap Sync now in Connected devices.

New activities usually appear within a minute or two.

Reconnect or disconnect

  • If your Garmin login expires, Today shows Reconnect and syncing stops. Tap it and sign in again.
  • Disconnect stops syncing and takes your planned runs off your watch. Activities already imported stay in your history. You can also remove Athelista in the Garmin Connect app.

Good to know

  • The sync status on Today is green when your watch is connected and syncing.
  • Your coach sees your activities only as you allow. See My coaches and sharing.
